Levi's

Levi Strauss recognized a need among hardworking people: clothes built to endure anything. So Levi Strauss and his tailor friend Jacob Davis combined copper rivet reinforcements with tough denim, leading to the first manufactured waist overalls in 1873. Today, we call them "blue jeans." Levi´s makes clothes to stand the test of time and therefore their sights are always on the future. Levi´s has long been advocates for sustainability—and their ambitions today are only bolder. Levi´s plans and partnerships are focused on three main pillars: climate, consumption and community. Levi´s joined Fashion for Good, which supports sustainable initiatives, and they are also working with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Jeans Redesign project to help reduce consumption and advance circularity in denim. Together, they are setting guidelines for brands and suppliers to make jeans that can be used more, are designed to be made again, and are made of safe, recycled and renewable inputs. Levi's most recent Sustainability Report can be found here.
