This cardigan is our ode to Preila, a tiny village located on the Curonian Spit between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. The deep blues, warm browns, and pale whites are colors inspired by the beautiful pastel shades of coastal Lithuanian towns.

The knit has a loose, boxy silhouette with dropped shoulders and prolonged sleeves. The hem is slightly cropped.

100% merino wool (mulesing-free).

Our Mia is 7 years old and is wearing size 7-8Y.
Available in kid size and mom size.

Width: 26cm / 10.2in (6M), 30cm / 11.8in (1-2Y), 34cm / 13.4in (3-4Y), 38cm / 15in (5-6Y), 42cm / 16.5in (7-8Y)

About the factory.

For this knit we partnered up with a family-run knitwear factory in Šiauliai, a town of 100,000 people in Northern Lithuania. The owner of the factory is Mrs. Zina who founded the company over 30 years ago. Growing up she always dreamt of becoming an orchestra conductor, but running a factory as beautifully as she does might not be that far off.

Today Mrs. Zina employs over 20 women from the local community who all refer to her as a mother figure. All her employees earn above a living wage and are entitled to 4 weeks of annual paid leave, 24 months of paid maternity leave and paid sick leave. They work 8-hour days Monday to Friday. Each knit comes signed by a woman who made it.
